Just one step at a time

Life is complicated. The only way to get through it is one step at a time

Food crisis

I was reading Mad Momma’s post on food waste and feel ashame of myself for throwing away mouldy veg this afternoon. I need to get better at working out what to do with the food I buy, sorting out proportions and portions, as I generally cook for one.

And really, I could do with a whole freezer to myself, but I share with 2 others so only have a drawer to myself. Though, if I could get rid of those sausage rolls from a party, that would help. Need another church shared lunch for that!

Does anyone have any tips on eating well but at low cost? Any favourite recipes to share? I’m trying to cut down on meat because it’s expensive to eat happy meat (i.e. free range), so would be interested to hear of any interesting vegetarian recipes.

Domestic goddess in training

I get a fruit and veg box every week now. From Abel & Cole. It’s good value. And it’s got me interested in cooking and baking. It’s introducing me to some interesting new vegetables and fruit, and I’m finding some new recipes.

Which I will share on my new blog Domestic goddess in training
